I was Cody Lindley's supervisor for a few years while he worked at o-positive (and post-merger at Oliver Russell). There are many memorable things about Cody. There are two traits that stand out about Cody: persistence and drive.
Combine these items with an excellent problem-solving ability and raw creative talent and you have an excellent Interactive Designer, Developer, and Programmer. Cody's persistence won him the original job at o-positive. He tracked me down after graduating from college and made his desire to work at o-positive known. During our conversations, I tested his skills and gave him small assignments to "prove his worth." Eventually, Cody shared with me that he'd do anything to get his foot in the door at the agency. He was sharp and had the resume to meet the challenge — but he seemed a bit "junior" for where we were headed. We ended up needing someone immediately, so I gave him a shot. It turned out to be an excellent decision — Cody performed as well (or better than) those with twice the experience. Cody is an excellent collaborator and motivator—he asks questions, and isn't afraid of project limitations. Cody always pushed me for more information, or to have a better understanding of the situation before starting a project. He strived to always provide the best solution possible. Cody's Flash animation skills are excellent, but it is his knowledge of ActionScript, XML, PHP and many other languages that takes his work to the next level. Because of Cody's drive to learn new things and personal quest for knowledge, he is very successful as an Interactive Designer.
Cody is self-assured and precise. When he brings an idea to the table; it has been researched and is more than a "kernel" of an idea. He is one of those rare employees who when pushed or challenged, becomes motivated and inspired to find the answer.

I have known Cody Lindley through our shared work experience with The Idaho Statesman. I hired Cody to redesign several web sites within the overall site, and to create new online experiences that reflected our brand, and impressed our Internet savvy audience. I was methodical in my hiring process. I offered all candidates a test of their skill, and Cody was the clear choice.
Once hired, Cody became immediately involved in the redesign of Idaho Classifieds, our online classified site. Idaho Classifieds was, upon completion, one of the best-classified sites that Gannett had to offer its viewers. In fact, many of our sister newspapers used Cody’s work as a template when designing their own new sites. I was impressed with Cody’s work on the classified sites, so I offered him project of redesigning the look, feel, and navigation of the home page, which is the most visited page served up by an Idaho media company. While I was the online manager at The Idaho Statesman, Cody also participated in several other projects helping the newsroom convey their stories more accurately, in more detail, and with a greater eye for quality of design.
Cody has shown the kind of initiative, which is necessary to be successful over the long-term in the design and web-programming field. He is, in fact, one of the premier local Flash talents, and is consulted frequently for his skill set. I believe he will be a strong member of your team and has an excellent future ahead. He is a conscientious worker and has an excellent work ethic. I would gladly have hired Cody in my new job as the head of Marketing for Idaho Independent Bank, but we just don’t have nearly enough work to be done to warrant a full time designer/programmer.
