I Have A New Employer
I’ve upped and switch jobs. For the past week I have been working for Fluid Inc., out of San Francisco. No we have not moved, the Lindleys still reside in Boise, Idaho. The job itself is a remote position. So, I get to live in Boise (or anywhere really) but work as a Lead Web Developer (xhtml, css, and javascript) on Fluid’s engineering team.
It’s only been a week, but I couldn’t be more pleased with my new position. Now because I am so pleased, I’ve decided to make a little list entitle, “Ten Reasons Why This Job Rocks”. This list is in no particular order!
1. Finally, a quiet and private office optimized for productivity
2. A new desk, which allows me to work sitting or standing (more to come)
3. Great Boss (all signs point in this direction)
4. Great Team (all signs point in this direction)
5. Great Co-workers (all signs point in this direction)
6. No more sitting in traffic while driving to work
7. Getting to see my wife and kid at lunch
8. Limited travel (2 to 3 weeks a year)
9. I work on a Macintosh and Windows machine (Mac Book Pro + Parallels = Nirvana)
10. An environment that will hopefully foster learning
And there you have it. Now I realize that I have only been employed for a week and shouldn’t rush to any sort of final conclusion, but for now I’m going to go ahead and happily swim in my own ignorance.

Congrats Cody! They’re lucky to have you. And I can vouch that #9 is indeed Nirvana.
Congrats! An exciting time for you i’m sure! :-) (I can vouch for #9 as well.)
Well done Cody! Congratulations and hope it’s a good fit!
Awesome yo, congrats!
I’m happy for you, but already missing you at SuperValu. I hope you enjoy it immensely, bro.
Congratulations on finding a great opportunity.
Also, I’ll be interested to hear about how “remote work” ... works.
