Managing Your Media
If you’ve used MediaMan or Delicious Monster to manage your DVD’s, CD’s, books, and games then you might be interested in Listal. Listal is not a stand alone desktop application like the well known Delicious Monster or MediaMan. Listal is a light weight application similar to MediaMan or Delicious Monster, except it’s a web based application. Because of this Listal and your account can be accessed from any computer with a internet connected.
After a limited duration of usage my initial knee jerk reaction is, sweet! In a nutshell the online application uses the Amazon API to easily pull information about DVD’s, CD’s, books, and games into one of two categories, owned or wanted.
As an example, once I have a DVD in my account I can view all the information pulled from Amazon about my DVD. In addition I can tag the item with keywords that are then used in tag clouds, view other users who own my particular DVD (and their DVD collections), and read any reviews or comments users of the application have left about my particular DVD. It’s a management tool as well as a community.
Check it out. And if you have time tell me what you think about it. I want to know what you like, what you hate, and what it lacks.
